Nottingham Forest have reportedly reached a verbal agreement with Remo Freuler for a move to the City Ground but his club, Atalanta, are yet to agree a fee with Steve Cooper's side.
The Atalanta midfielder emerged as 'one of the targets on the list' for Reds boss Steve Cooper, as he looks to bolster the Reds' midfield options, this summer. According to journalist Florian Plettenberg, Freuler is keen to move to the East Midlands but negotiations between the two clubs remain ongoing and have been described as 'not easy.'
Forest had submitted an improved offer of £8 million for the midfielder earlier this week, after an initial bid of £6m. Italian news outlet Tutto Mercato also reported that the Reds were 'one step' away from striking a deal.

The Switzerland international made the switch to Atalanta in 2016, and has gone on to become an integral part of Gian Piero Gasperini's side, racking up 253 appearances in all competitions thus far.
With the transfer window set to close on September 1, Forest still have a few weeks to conclude a deal and the need for more players was evident after the 2-0 defeat to Newcastle United on the opening day of the season.
