Nottingham Forest are showing an interest in Ibrahim Sangare and Anton Stach as Steve Cooper targets a midfielder as his next transfer.
The Reds have been linked with an interest in Real Betis’ William Carvalho, with the Portugal international said to be top of the club’s transfer shortlist . Further reports claim that Forest have already opened talks with the Spanish club for the midfielder.
They do however face competition from the likes of Lyon and Galatasaray. The Reds therefore are said to have two other players on their list should a move for the 30-year-old not go through this summer.

The Daily Mail name PSV Eindhoven midfielder Sangare and Mainz’s Anton Stach as the ‘other two names’ on the shortlist of potential midfield targets this summer. Sangare has been linked with a move to the Premier League this season with Leicester City and Aston Villa among those said to be interested.
The 24-year-old has impressed for PSV both domestically and in Europe last season, as he helped his team to the quarter-final of the Europa Conference League, losing out to Leicester City. He made 48 appearances in all competitions last season,
He is said to have a release clause of £34 million in his contract, although PSV are keen for him to sign a new deal with the club. The midfielder has three years to run on his current deal.
Stach has been with Mainz since joining from Greuther Furth last summer. The 23-year-old made a total of 33 appearances for the German club in 2021/22, catching the eye with his performances.
The report also says that former loanee James Garner also appears on the shortlist, but a deal would be difficult to do this summer due to the loan signing of Dean Henderson. Premier League rules permit just one loan signing from another Premier League club, with the capture of Henderson taking up that spot. However, there is one loophole Forest could exploit.
They could sign Garner on loan but would be obliged to buy him next summer for a pre-agreed sum, regardless of their league status.
The likes of Leicester City and Southampton have been credited with an interest.
