The chances of Nottingham Forest promotion hero Djed Spence returning to the City Ground have been given a boost.
Spence made 42 appearances for Forest last season as they stormed up the Championship table under head coach Steve Cooper, going on to win promotion back to the Premier League through the play-offs.
The wing-back was one of the standout players of the season, and in the summer he earned a permanent move to Tottenham Hotspur, having been at Forest on loan from Championship rivals Middlesbrough.

Since switching to north London, game time has been hard to come by, with just three minutes of Premier League action this season for the 22-year-old.
According to The Times, Tottenham would like to send Spence out on loan in the January transfer window. While Forest are not named, they would likely be strong contenders to sign him because he had such a positive experience with the club last year.
It remains to be seen whether Forest would be interested in Spence, but owner Evangelos Marinakis has revealed the club want to sign at least two more players in the summer window. Fellow defenders Loic Bade and Loic Mbe Soh, however, look to both be moving on. Bade has had his loan with Forest cancelled and is set to join Valencia, while Mbe Soh is closing in on a temporary move to Guingamp.
