Nottingham Forest fans are not happy after the Reds looked to be denied a penalty as a result of a dubious offside decision in their crunch promotion clash with Bournemouth.
Forest striker Sam Surridge appeared to be brought down by Cherries keeper Mark Travers inside the penalty area in the 41st minute of the crucial Championship showdown at the Vitality Stadium.
The Reoublic of Ireland shot stopper seemed to clip Surridge's feet in an attempt to retrieve the ball but failed to register any contact with the ball itself, hinting at a clear penalty. However, before referee Stuart Atwell had to make a decision, the assistant referee had already flagged for offside.
But replays showed that Surridge was actually onside when the ball was played through to him. The linesman's decision got Forest fans talking on Twitter. Here's what some had to say...
CRUNCH TIE: Flags and flares of Nottingham Forest fans are not about Bournemouth and their supporters
OPPOSITION VIEW: Bournemouth ace says Nottingham Forest have been 'unbelievable'
@Colt_Em: How could the linesman rule that offside!! We've got Hi-vis on.
@AntDear2010: Not offside and a clear pen. Cheers Stuart Atwell.
@SharonCrocker1: Great officials again.
@dineshfernando: Not offside and therefore should have been a penalty.
@nffcbod: Two bad decisions in their box now The corner off Kelly and the offside against Surridge.
@NickGuise1: Onside and a penalty!
@bullyphil: Joke decision against us again. Not offside and stonewall pen.
@TogetherBHA: Lol for all the hate VAR gets that's why we need it in the game, Forest player given offside when he's clearly on, and no penalty shout to analyse because they got the offside call MASSIVELY wrong.
The match was goalless at half-time, with Surridge denied by the woodwork in the opening stages.
