Nottingham Forest fixture changes announced as Reds face crucial month in survival fight

Two of Nottingham Forest’s April fixtures have been rescheduled after being selected to be shown live on TV.

The Reds’ clash with Manchester United at the City Ground has been moved to the later start time of 5.30pm on Saturday, April 15, from the original 3pm kick-off. It will be shown live on Sky Sports. If United are involved in the Europa League the preceding Thursday, the fixture will move to Sunday, April 16 (4.30pm kick-off).

Meanwhile, the home game with Brighton and Hove Albion moves from Tuesday, April 25 to Wednesday, April 26 (kick-off 7.30pm). The match will be broadcast live on BT Sport.

The rearranged date for Forest’s trip to face Leeds United has also been announced. The fixture was postponed in September, following the death of Her Majesty The Queen. It will now take place on Tuesday, April 4 (7.45pm kick-off).

Leeds will have a new manager in place for the game at Elland Road. Having sacked Jesse Marsch, they have today announced former Watford boss Javi Gracia as his replacement, subject to obtaining a work permit. He has been appointed on what is described as a “flexible” contract.

An action-packed April could prove to be a big month in the Reds’ bid to retain Premier League status. The month also features a home game against Wolverhampton Wanderers, as well as away ones against Aston Villa, Liverpool and Brentford.

Steve Cooper’s side are currently 13th in the table, five points above the relegation zone. They make the trip to face West Ham United, who are 18th, on Saturday.

Forest’s April fixture list, following the changes made:

Saturday, April 1 - Wolverhampton Wanderers (H)

Tuesday, April 4 - Leeds United (A)

Saturday, April 8 - Aston Villa (A)

Saturday, April 15 - Manchester United (H)

Saturday, April 22 - Liverpool (A)

Wednesday, April 26 - Brighton and Hove Albion (H)

Saturday, April 29 - Brentford (A)
