Nottingham Forest fans share verdict after disappointing defeat to Cardiff City

Nottingham Forest fans have been left disappointed after they were beaten 2-1 by Cardiff City in south Wales.

Jordan Hugill scored six minutes into his Bluebirds debut with a low finish across Brice Samba into the bottom corner.

Isaak Davies then doubled the home side's lead with his first-ever league goal on 65 minutes.

Brennan Johnson almost reduced the deficit in a rare attack for Steve Cooper 's side, but his darting run was slightly too late.

They eventually scored a late consolation goal thanks to Keinan Davis' point-blank header, but it was too little too late.

It was a disappointing day for the 1,400-strong travelling support as the Reds managed just one shot on target all afternoon and missed out on moving into the play-off spots.

They do, however, remain just two points outside the Championship play-off positions.

Here's what Nottingham Forest fans had to say at full-time...

@trickytrees12: Cardiff have fans back in stadium and half a new team. They were just more up for it than us. It’s Grabban’s injury that’s even more worrying . Hoping it’s not as bad as it looks.

@peakychloe: That was a very Forest performance against a side who haven’t won at home since November, but we move onto the next.

@jcov1998: Garner is good enough to play as a 6/8 or 10. But today we massively missed his passing ability and someone to control the ball from deep positions. We need a winger which will allow Zinc to play inside so we can drop Garner deeper.

@AlexNFFC: Got what we deserved today, we were absolutely hopeless.

@mickey_dave: Bad day at the office. Just looked tired & disjointed all over the pitch. Think that was just good tactics from Cardiff. Hopefully the injury to Grabban isn’t to bad.

@TomPaluszkiwei1: Not the greatest of performances we've seen from this Forest side, but a bit of perspective - if you had told us after the first 7 games we'd be 2 points off the playoffs by end of Jan we all would have said you need to stop sniffing glue. A few tweaks and we can sneak in.

@ScottHa26547799: You can see why he [Steve Cooper] was so annoyed after Barnsley. Maybe he could sense that was coming. We move on and hopefully get a couple in tomorrow.
