Nottingham Forest fans say the same thing as Steve Cooper’s men given play-off boost

While Nottingham Forest were not in Championship action last night, fans were keeping an eye on matters on the pitch.

With the Reds fighting a number of clubs around them for a place in the Championship play-off places at the end of the season, interest in how teams around them are doing increases as the campaign goes on.

Therefore, eyes of Forest fans may have been in action at the Hawthorns on Monday night as West Bromwich Albion took on Blackburn Rovers.

Before kick-off the Baggies were in ninth place in the table, two points adrift of Forest in seventh while Blackburn sit in third place, six points ahead of Steve Cooper ’s men.

Going into the game, both Blackburn and West Brom were winless in their last three games. Both were therefore looking to get back to winning ways when they met at the Hawthorns.

That wasn’t to be the case with the duo playing out a goalless draw with both teams dropping points which could be crucial at the end of the season.

While the point moves West Brom to within one point of Forest and Blackburn seven ahead, the picture would have been different if either side had got a winner with either Blackburn pulling further away or the Baggies overtaking Forest in the table.

At the full-time whistle, Forest fans took to social media to give their reaction to the ‘perfect result’ for Cooper’s side.

Simon Holbrook : Great result for us at the Hawthorns!.....

#nffc

Jax : WBA 0-0 Blackburn

Really good result for us. #NFFC

Andrew Brookes : Decent 0-0 for us. That’ll do nicely #nffc

Ash Moult : Both #wba and #brfc dropping points again. Great result for #nffc though

Will Thorpe : Perfect result for us tonight neither side looked anything special, Blackburn will slide down the table if Brereton is out for long #NFFC

Forest will look to make the most of both teams dropping points when they take on second placed Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Friday night.
