Bayer Leverkusen are reportedly 'pushing to overtake' Nottingham Forest in the transfer race to sign Atletico Madrid centre-back Felipe.
It was earlier reported that talks were progressing well between Forest and the Spanish club over a potential transfer ahead of Tuesday night's deadline. Steve Cooper is looking to boost his defensive options and has also reportedly identified former Wolves man Romain Saiss as a potential target.
However, Forest are now facing late competition from Bundesliga side Leverkusen for Felipe. According to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, Leverkusen are battling for the 33-year-old's signature and aim to overtake the Reds.
