Nottingham Forest exit 'fast approaching' as transfer talks accelerate

Nottingham Forest defender Loic Mbe Soh is "fast approaching" a loan move away from the City Ground.

The 21-year-old joined the Reds from Paris Saint-Germain in 2020 and has made just 11 competitive appearances in a Forest shirt. Nine of those came in the Championship, with the other two in this season's Carabao Cup.

He featured from the bench on Wednesday night as Forest beat Blackburn to progress to the quarter-finals of the competition, perhaps topping up his match fitness a little ahead of a move away next month. He would be following fellow defender and Frenchman Loic Bade out of the City Ground exit door.

According to French outlet to Jeunes Footeux, the centre-back is now set to join French second tier side Guingamp on loan. They say talks between the two clubs are "moving in the right direction", with talks to be "formalised very soon" ahead of the January transfer window.

Mbe Soh certainly has unfulfilled potential despite his lack of game time in Garibaldi red. A loan move could be a productive one for him, especially with game time in the Premier League much more difficult to come by.

It is as yet unclear whether Guingamp will have an option or obligation to buy the young defender. It may depend on how he performs back in his native France.
