Nottingham Forest defender Steve Cook has responded to Derby County's play-offs heartbreak after they were defeated 1-0 at Sheffield Wednesday.
The result, which saw Rams captain Curtis Davies sent off, meant that they slipped into seventh place after Michael Smith converted from the spot. An equaliser would have been sufficient to keep Paul Warne's side in the top-six.
Forest's rivals won 21 of their games this season but ultimately, results went against them when they looked to cement a place in the play-offs. They will be competing in League One for a second successive year next season.

Reacting to the Rams' misfortunes, Cook wrote on Twitter: "Wait. Derby," followed by two laughing emojis.
Many Forest supporters got involved, with one saying: "We are all Steve Cook today," before another added: "As if we couldn't love you more."
A third continued: "Forget anything I've said bad about you, love you Cookie," and a fourth who agreed, said: "My centre half."
Meanwhile, one said: "Karma could be tricky", which Cook was quick to respond: "We won't be L1."
Cook hasn't featured for Forest since November after being omitted from Steve Cooper's 25-man squad in January. The Reds will return to action tomorrow (Monday, 8pm), when they take on Southampton at the City Ground.
