Nottingham Forest defender 'in talks' to complete Championship transfer

Nottingham Forest defender Tobias Figueiredo is reportedly "in talks" with Championship club Hull City ahead of his release by the Reds at the end of this month.

The 28-year-old was one of three players confirmed by the club as leaving the City Ground at the end of their contracts this summer. Fellow Forest defenders Gaetan Bong and Carl Jenkinson are the other two that will become free agents.

Figueiredo has spent the last four-and-a-half seasons as a Championship centre-back and has made more than 100 appearances in the process. An emotional farewell was also posted on the player's social media accounts last week, which claimed 'it's time for a new adventure'.

Television reporter and journalist Ertan Süzgün first reported, in a tweet translated from Turkish, that Hull had signed the defender. Our colleagues at Hull Live understand that talks are taking place, and a move is looking likely.

The former Portugal under-21 international made his final appearance for Forest against the Tigers at their MKM Stadium last month when the two played out a dramatic 1-1 draw. Figueiredo also came on as a late substitute in the reverse fixture at the City Ground to see out a 2-1 win back in December.

Did Forest make the right decision by releasing Figueiredo? Have your say in the comments section below...
