Nottingham Forest defender Harry Toffolo has been charged by the Football Association. with a number of betting breaches.
"Nottingham Forest's Harry Toffolo has been charged with misconduct in relation to our betting rules," a statement from an FA spokesperson, shared on social media, read. It specifies that the alleged offences took place before he was signed by the Premier League club.
"It's alleged that the defender breached FA Rule E1 (b) 375 times between 22 January 2014 and 18 March 2017," the statement continues. "Harry Toffolo has until Wednesday 19 July 2023 to provide his response."

The alleged offences happened with Toffolo was a Norwich City player, during a stint of loan spells. He joined Swindon Town in October 2014 and played 28 times before shorter spells at Rotherham United, Peterborough United and Scunthorpe United during the relevant time period.
There is no suggestion at this stage that Toffolo bet on games he was involved in.
Toffolo joined Forest a year ago from Huddersfield Town, playing a total of 21 times as he served as understudy to Renan Lodi.
The news could heighten Forest's search for a left-back, with Lodi having returned to Atletico Madrid, although Forest hope to bring him back. They also have former Bayern Munich left-back Omar Richards, but he has only just returned to training after missing the whole of last season.
Toffolo is likely to be free to continue playing while the case is resolved. Brentford striker Ivan Toney was charged with breaking betting rules in November 2022 and continued to play until his eight-month ban was confirmed in May of this year.
Forest will not be commenting on the matter, noting that it is an ongoing investigation into Toffolo.
