Nottingham Forest have made "contact" with former Seville manager Jorge Sampaoli, it has been claimed.
The Reds are said to have "sought" the 63-year-old as a replacement for head coach Steve Cooper, though it is unclear whether such a move would be made immediately or further down the line.
Sampaoli, who has also managed Argentina and Marseille in his career, is wanted by both Forest and Brazilian side Flamengo, who are the reigning Copa Libertadores and Copa do Brasil champions.

That's according to Goal Brasil, who say Forest have "initiated contact" with Sampaoli ahead of a potential move. There are no fresh reports to suggest Cooper is at risk of losing his job at the City Ground.
In fact, owner Evangelos Marinakis issued a statement last week giving public backing to Cooper when reports began to emerge suggesting the Welshman was on the verge of losing his job.
It is said Sampaoli has yet to give Forest an answer about whether he would be interested in coaching the Reds, while he is also aware of the interest from Flamengo.
