Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper was on the receiving end of a brutal chant from Leicester City fans after his side’s disastrous first-half display.
The Reds could initially count themselves unlucky as Taiwo Awoniyi struck the post early on. However, Cooper ’s side were soon made to regret passing up that opportunity as James Maddison’s deflected strike found its way past Dean Henderson to give Brendan Rodgers’ men the lead.
Cooper has had a tough task so far this season, with the manager attempting to mould his much-changed squad into a coherent team, as well as trying to pick up points in the top-flight. However, his evening soon got worse as Harvey Barnes added Leicester’s second two minutes later and there was still more to come before the half-time whistle sounded.

Maddison made it 3-0 on 35 minutes with an impressive free-kck finish to rubber-stamp the worst possible start to the game for Forest. The Reds had arrived into the game above bottom-placed Leicester, with Rodgers’ team awaiting their first win of the season.
Though Leicester’s third of the night put the home fans in a jubilant mood, much to Cooper’s despair. BBC Sport reported that chants of “Sacked in the morning” could be heard coming from the home end, summing up a miserable start to the night for the coach and his players.
Forest had picked up four points before Monday night and are far from cut adrift at the bottom of the table. More concerningly, though, the Reds had endured back-to-back 3-2 defeats against fellow newly-promoted sides Bournemouth and Fulham prior to their trip to the King Power Stadium.
