Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper was quick to get in touch as Brennan Johnson completed an incredible week by helping Wales qualify for the World Cup.
The Reds ace has enjoyed a memorable few days. Fresh from helping Cooper’s side secure promotion to the Premier League at Wembley, he then played his part for his country as they clinched a place at this year’s tournament in Qatar.
It comes on the back of a brilliant season for Johnson, who has established himself as a key player at Forest. And he played the final 20 minutes of Sunday’s 1-0 victory over Ukraine which saw Wales reach their first World Cup since 1958 - with fellow countryman Cooper sending a special message afterwards.
