Nottingham Forest and Mansfield Town colours in prom shop window prove big hit with passers-by

A Nottingham business has backed our football teams in this weekend. The window display was made by Team Prom who offer a range of prom and occasion wear dresses on Priestsic Road in Sutton in Ashfield.

Customers were delighted to spot the window which features prom dresses in the colours of Nottingham Forest and Mansfield Town with banners reading: 'Wembley 2022.' The mannequins also wear football scarves across the dresses like a sash. Passerbys were pleased to see a local business supporting the teams ahead of the games.

The Team Prom staff shared a photo of the window on Facebook and wrote: "Hope this window makes our passers-by smile. Supporting our local teams ready for the weekend at Wembley. My husband is a big forest fan and my son is Mansfield Town so how could we let this opportunity go by without making a showcase of our window."

Speaking with Nottingham Post, owner Lisa Gadsby said: "My son is a huge Mansfield fan and my husband is a huge Forest fan so we never thought we have the opportunity for them both to go to Wembley together. So it seemed like too good an opportunity to miss and as we are based in Sutton in Ashfield, we are in the middle of both. I thought it would make lots of local people smile and it has. There are cars pulling up outside to take photos all the time."

The photo quickly gathered over 250 likes and many comments from football fans and local residents.

One visitor to the shop wrote: "Drove by earlier….. well done it looks ace! Good to see a local business getting behind the teams."

Another commented: "My 12-year-old daughter looks every time we drive past going to dance, she'll love this."

The shop was established just before covid in 2019 but relocated to the current store last year. Lisa is excited to get the opportunity to create a Jubilee window next weekend in time for the celebrations.

Lisa said: "A company made me the boards at the top and it didn't take long to put together. We had the dresses in the shop already so put them in the window. It's lovely having a window as my old shop didn't so we couldn't do any displays. Now we are on a busy road too so we can have a nice big window."

Mansfield Town take on Port Vale on Saturday for a place in League One while Nottingham Forest tackle Huddersfield on Sunday in a bid to reach the Premier League.
