Nottingham Forest agree £2m transfer as part of late triple deadline day plan

Nottingham Forest have agreed a fee of around £2m with Stoke City for striker Sam Surridge as part of a late triple transfer plan on deadline day.

The Reds have been eager to bolster their options in attack after Lewis Grabban limped off in Sunday's defeat at Cardiff while Lyle Taylor is on loan at Birmingham City.

That left Keinan Davis, on loan from Aston Villa, as the only forward who is currently fit and available with the Reds now moving for Surridge on a permanent deal.

The player is due for a medical this afternoon but he could not be the only player through the door with the club also hoping to sign a winger and a defender.

The Telegraph's John Percy tweeted: "Nffc have agreed a fee of around £2m with Stoke for striker Sam Surridge, who is set for a medical this afternoon. Forest also targeting a defender and (possibly) a winger before the deadline #scfc"

The news comes as Forest continue to be linked with Millwall winger Jed Wallace, a player Reds fans would love to see at the City Ground.

He is out of contract in the summer and it was reported earlier in the day that the Reds were set to launch another bid in an attempt to lure him Trentside.

A left-back could also be on the agenda before the window closes at 11pm.
