Nottingham Forest ace makes brilliant Derby County remark in front of big audience

Nottingham Forest's Brennan Johnson gave a little smile as he referenced Derby County on stage last night (Sunday) after picking up a prestigious award.

The 20-year-old was crowned Championship Young Player of the Season at the end-of-season EFL Awards, beating teammate Djed Spence to the prize.

While accepting his award, Johnson was asked for his highlight of the season. A smile immediately showed on his face as an immediate answer came to mind for the youngster.

"Definitely the goals against Derby," he said. "I mean, such a big game for Nottingham Forest, and good to do it against them."

Johnson was also described as one of brightest young talents in the game, something he accepted with the humility we have come to expect from the young Forest man.

"It's nice to hear," he said. "I think it's all down to the hard work of the team. We've all been really good for pretty much all of the season. Hopefully that can continue."

His Forest teammates Joe Worrall, Spence and Ryan Yates were named in the Championship Team of the Season, though there was no space in the XI for Johnson - despite his award.
