A busy Nottingham road was forced to close earlier this evening (December 15) after a car collided with a lamppost. Police were called to the crash, in Castle Boulevard, at around 5.40pm, with the road closed westbound at its junction with Castle Bridge Road.
Police confirmed two people were inside the vehicle and have been treated for their injuries, which are not currently thought to be life threatening. Emergency services set up a diversion eastbound on Castle Bridge Road, while drivers travelling westbound had their journeys delayed while the incident was dealt with.
The lane reopened at around 7.30pm.

An update issued by Nottinghamshire Police read: "Emergency services were called to Castle Boulevard, Nottingham, at around 5.40pm today (15 December 2022) following reports of a crash. One car was in collision with a lamppost and two people inside the vehicle have been treated for injuries which are not currently believed to be life-altering or life-threatening.
"Drivers are urged to avoid the area while recovery of the vehicle takes place."
