Nottingham is "buzzing" as a much-anticipated music festival returned to the city. Hundreds were seen descending to Colwick Country Park on Saturday afternoon (June 4) for the Detonate festival.
The event started at 11am and will last until 11pm, finishing off with a four-minute firework display. Some disruption to traffic is expected while a number of streets have been restricted to residents-only access.
Revellers were seen queuing in fancy dress at the main entrance, while others had VIP access. Police were in attendance at the road closures, while traffic marshalls were calming the congestion and queues formed around the park.
A group of friends queuing said have been awaiting the festival for months. James Hington, 37, who said he has never missed, added: "It is always banging. I have always been here. It always brings good atmosphere to Nottingham.
"I came here last year as well. Everyone was having so much fun. The line-up is great and there is always good music. I am glad that it is still going ahead in Nottingham."

It is not just the music connoisseurs who lined up for the festival. Ollie Garner, who was attending for the first time, said he was "buzzing".
The 21-year-old student added: "It is the first time and I cannot wait. I heard it is so good.
