A Nottingham street artist has been selected from a global competition to find a new artist to be showcased in the city. Artwork celebrating the pioneers, Florence and Jesse Boot will be painted by street artist Jess Bright as part of the Nottingham Project's Rebels and Pioneers campaign.
The piece was unanimously agreed as the winner by a panel that included Emma Houston, the great-granddaughter of Jesse and Florence Boot. Deborah Ware from the Island Quarter and Sophie Clapp the company archivist for Boots along with Reiss Mallet, artist liaison for The Nottingham Street Art Project were also on the panel.
The artwork will go on display at The Island Quarter which is near the site of the original Boots Headquarters. Artists were challenged to design a mural that reflected on achievements and the pioneering spirit of the Boot family.
