An infamous Australian drug lord has lost his niece after she was killed in a car accident.
Keana Mokbel, 25, whose uncle is Aussie gangster Tony Mokbel - a crime boss currently serving 30 years for narco-trafficking.
Ms Mokbel's car ploughed into a tree as she drove along a street in Heidelberg West, a northeastern suburb of Melbourne, just before 9pm.
Mokbel has been made aware of the tragedy and has spoken to his family but he is not expected to apply to attend the funeral, reports say.
Last month, the convict was rushed to hospital for urgent treatment for a blood clot.
Ms Mokbel has been remembered warmly by her devastated family and friends, who called her a "pocket rocket" with an infectious smile.
"I'm gonna miss your silly laugh, your 1 hour story times, your 100 Snapchats that you'd send me every day, your presence, your love and most of all you," said Odeta Lamé, who attached a number of photos with her post.
"You called me your angel the other day and now you've become mine.
"I love you my twin flame and you'll always hold a special place in my heart."
Another pal, Rini Menidis, wrote: "You were such a light and made an imprint in everyone's life.
"You always stood up for me and had my back. I always looked up to you like you were my big sister. You will forever be in my heart my girl."
"You've left too many people behind that I don't know how to do life without you," Helena Katsouranis added to the chorus of tributes.
"I thank god for the time I got to spend with you, not many people meet such a natural ray of sunshine like you were."
Josephine Fotiadis said: "The way your smile lit up the entire universe was infectious, you would bring my mood to your level of joy in moments of being around you."
Savva Pappas said his heart has been left broken in pieces.
An inner-city Melbourne church, Our Lady of Lebanon, posted another tribute to the young woman.
"Dear Parishioners. Sadly, a member of our community here in Melbourne has passed away; Kalliopi Keana Mokbel," it read.
"Her funeral is still being finalised. We will confirm once we get the details.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with Kalliopi's family at this difficult time. May she rest in eternal peace."
A report is being prepared for the coroner, according to Victoria Police.
