Notorious double rapist Simon McGinley in court facing charges of breaching Sex Offenders Act

Notorious rape beast Simon McGinley has appeared in court charged with breaching the conditions of the Sex Offenders Act.

McGinley (48), who was released from prison in October, was brought before Dundalk District Court yesterday, we can reveal.

The infamous double-rapist, who walked free from prison in September after 13 years, was charged over allegedly failing to comply with the conditions of the Act.

Under the Act a person on the register must provide an address to An Garda Siochana where they are residing and must sign on on a regular basis.

Mr McGinley was granted bail yesterday on his own bond of €200 under strict conditions.

Under those conditions he must reside at an address in the Dundalk area of Co Louth and keep to a curfew of 10pm to 7am.

He was also required to provide a mobile number and to answer the door when gardai call to his address.

The development comes after this paper tracked McGinley down to an address he was residing in in west Dublin.

Looking far older than the last public pictures of him in 2009, McGinley was now sporting glasses, greying hair and a beard.

We observed the dangerous sex offender smoking a vape and talking on the phone as he paced around a West Dublin apartment complex that he had called home for the last number of weeks.

McGinley’s hideout was located in a heavily populated suburb close to a primary school and a busy shopping centre.

The pictures of McGinley come after he managed to almost completely conceal his appearance in October - covering up with a mask, hat and hood as he emerged from the gates of Arbour Hill Prison, having served 13 years behind bars.
