Former FDA Commissioner Scott Gottlieb said it was “unusual” and not “standard” for a produce company to ask the White House to delay a lettuce recall tied to a nationwide cyclospora outbreak.
Gottlieb made the remark to a Sunday news show in response to a Wall Street Journal report that Taylor Farms had contacted the White House about postponing a recall announcement — and that officials had brought the FDA into the discussion.
