A hidden East Lothian 'ghost sign' from a former newsagents has been uncovered, sending locals on a trip down memory lane as childhood memories came racing back.
The shop, in Musselburgh, was discovered by Smart House Scotland as they recently moved to a new office.
Upon putting their own stamp on the building, the in-print of 'J Cairns Newsagents' was found, dating back to the 1960's.

The newsagents used to occupy a plot on the corner of North High Street in Musselburgh and was popular for kids in the area to buy sweets, with others remembering the paper round they had back in the day.
It is believed that Jimmy Cairns owned the shop, with Smart House Scotland prompting people to unearth any memories of their new business.
The 'ghost sign', which was perfectly preserved in white lettering with a dark green background, actually made former employees and family members of Jimmy Cairns to come together and compare tales.
Everyone who remembered the shop agreed that it was an iconic part of their childhood, with many dipping in for tobacco, cigarettes and football stickers.
One user recollected: "I did my morning paper round there in 1973/4 for 70p a week."
Another added: "My first job delivering papers through the week and making up the rolls on a Sunday, good memories."
Another regular paper round employee said: "Aye loved my paper round when I worked for him. Both mornings and afternoon and a Sunday morning too."
One user, even though it was over 50 years ago, could still remember Jimmy's kindness, saying: "Same here, used to get a buttered roll and a cup of tea before paper round, great guy even helped me get a new wheel for my bike after a run in with a lorry at the bottom of Dalrymple loan."
