Norwich City boss highlights 'outstanding' Canaries star as key man after vital Burnley win

Norwich City manager Dean Smith says Cambuslang's Kenny McLean was the key man in their crucial 2-0 victory over Burnley.

It was a must-win game for the former Aston Villa manager's team in their bid to beat the Premier League drop, and goals from Pierre Lees-Melou plus Teemu Pukki ensured they did.

McLean started in midfield and put in a tenacious display that puts Norwich seven points off safety ahead of facing Manchester United this weekend.

The Scotland international has played all but two of the Carrow Road side's 31 EPL matches this season.

Smith says the Cambuslang ace's performance was part of the reason why his side prevailed over Sean Dyche's team.

Speaking of the former Aberdeen and St Mirren star, he said: "I felt Kenny McLean was outstanding.

“He was my man of the match. I thought it was a really good performance from him, he was all over the place.

"He epitomised what we wanted in that team today so I was pleased with him.”
