Northwest Indianapolis and Boone County Residents Told to Boil Water for 72 Hours After Main Break Drops Pressure

Citizens Energy Group has issued a precautionary boil water advisory for parts of northwest Indianapolis and Boone County after a water main break just east of 86th Street and Lafayette Road dropped pressure below 20 pounds per square inch for some customers, the utility said Sunday, Oct. 11. Citizens announced the advisory at 10:50 a.m., and it lasts 72 hours or until the utility lifts it.

Citizens' advisory notice says pressure has been restored and repairs are underway. Until the advisory ends, affected customers should use boiled or bottled water for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and preparing food.
