Fine dining restaurant Pine has enjoyed a fast and furious path to success since opening its doors last year, soon becoming only the second in Northumberland to gain a Michelin star.
In little more than nine months of its launch in May 2021, it won the Michelin Green Star for its sustainable credentials, joining Restaurant Hjem, at Wall, in bringing Michelin glory to the county. It has since continued to impress and now The Good Food Guide has joined its legions of admirers, rating it among its top 20 list of the most exciting restaurants of 2022.
This new list features Pine at number 13 in the famous guide's round-up of the UK's best. Based at Vallum Farm in Wallhouses, where owners Siân Buchan and Cal Byerley showcase local produce in the likes of a 16-course tasting menu, it boasts ingredients from within a 20-mile radius, including some foraged plus vegetables grown in its on-site kitchen garden.
