A new study has identified Northumberland as one of England’s most beautiful rural counties. It is based its results on the number of Instagram posts and TikTok views for each area.
Of the 21 rural English counties identified, Northumberland was placed 7th. It wracked up 1.5m Instagram posts and 61.8m TikTok views giving it a final 'Social Score' of 6.75.
The study by Money.co.uk also looked at the average house price for each county. Based on government data, it revealed that Northumberland was the cheapest of the top 10 with property costing on average £183,895.

Voted the most beautiful rural county on social media was Cornwall with 8.6m Instagram posts and 580.3m TikTok views, giving it a social score of 10 out of 10. The average house price there is £300,182.
In second place is Devon with a social score of 9.5 out of 10. Devon appears in 4.7m Instagram posts and has been viewed over 370m times on TikTok. The average house price in Devon is £321,458.
In third place is Norfolk with a social score of 9 out of 10 with 4m Instagram posts and over 170m views on TikTok. This East Anglian county is perhaps best known for the Broads and the average house price in Norfolk is £277,736.
Northumberland, with its beautiful coastline, stunning villages and market towns as well as its history frequently tops polls about the most attractive places to live or visit, not just in England, but the whole of the UK.
