Northern Territory Police are calling for information after a man allegedly set fire to the inside of a United petrol station in Katherine on Tuesday afternoon.
In a statement, NT Police said officers received reports around 1:10pm that a man had allegedly lit a fire inside a service station on the Victoria Highway in Katherine South.
The man allegedly fled the scene in a Toyota Hi-Lux with no registration plates, and without paying for fuel.
A United Petroleum staff member extinguished the fire before emergency services arrived.
CCTV footage shows the alleged offender — an adult male — wearing a balaclava to hide his identity.
The man was driving a white single-cab, two-wheel drive Hi-Lux, with a rusted flatbed tray, and damage to the driver's side door.
A wing mirror and door handle were missing.
The vehicle was last seen travelling west on the Victoria Highway.
Detectives from the Katherine Criminal Investigation Branch are investigating the incident and urged anyone with information to come forward.
It is the second attack on a Katherine petrol station in three days.
Around 11pm on Sunday night, a group of children and teenagers, allegedly armed with a machete and a spear, allegedly robbed Katherine BP petrol station.
