Jonny Evans’ late equaliser salvaged a point against Cyprus in their last outing in June, but there were boos for the manager as a winless run in this competition stretched to 14 games.
Northern Ireland head into their final two fixtures level on points with the bottom-placed Cypriots, while Kosovo are second but six points adrift of Group C2 leaders Greece.
Baraclough has also had the unwelcome distraction surrounding Kyle Lafferty, who was withdrawn from the squad while club side Kilmarnock conduct an investigation into a social media video in which the player is accused of making an alleged sectarian remark. The 89-cap striker is also dealing with a back issue.
