A Northern Ireland homebuilder is celebrating after winning the Phillip Island Historic Grand Prix at a major motorsport festival in Australia.
James Hagan raced to victory in a 1974 Hesketh 308 Formula 1 car, which was the very first F1 car built by Lord Alexander Hesketh — a prominent figure in the world of F1 in the 1970s.
James, the founder and chair of Ballyclare-based Hagan Homes, steered the vintage car to the chequered flag, in what was the feature race of the Phillip Island Classic Festival of Motorsport held on the island south of Melbourne.
