Northern Ireland fire service's warning as causes of most accidental house fires in Northern Ireland revealed

The Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) is urging people be vigilant when it comes as fire safety and revealed the cause of most accidental house blazes.

Cooking appliances accounted for 246 accidental house fire last year, followed by electricity supply (128) while 44 were smoking related.

In the past year, NIFRS dealt with 714 accidental house fires and eight accidental house fire fatalities.
