
North Korea fired two short-range ballistic missiles towards its eastern waters, a day after asserting its rights to “self-defence” while warning against the redeployment of a nuclear-powered US aircraft carrier near the Korean Peninsula.
It was Pyongyang’s seventh such test launch in two weeks, which added to concerns harboured by the US and its regional allies, South Korea and Japan.
