North East weather: Hour-by-hour forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday according to the Met Office

North East residents will see the bright sun shining strongly through Tuesday, but they will no doubt be far more tentative about stepping outside come mid-week - with conditions going from glorious to glum.

Tuesday's forecast depicts spring in full swing, with rays beaming down from morning until afternoon. It looks to be slightly cloudier in the evening though, with highs of 13C dropping to lows of 6C as the night comes.

Wednesday on the other hand is much more bleak according to the experts - with overcast skies and light rain plaguing the day from start to finish. Highs of 10C and lows of 7C are expected.

The Met Office says: "Another fine and sunny morning after a chilly start. High cloud pushing in through the afternoon, turning the sunshine hazy.

"Milder overnight under cloud cover with frost patches further east. Maximum temperature 13 °C."
