Met Office forecasts predict a dry but chilly day in Newcastle on Thursday, with some sunny spells.

Forecasters predict that cloud will build throughout the region through the day and will remain rather breezy towards the coast.

The official forecast for Thursday is: "Initially sunny but chilly, although cloud will soon build. Most places then remaining dry with sunny spells, but there will be a few isolated showers. Remaining breezy along the coast. Maximum temperature 16 °C."
