While Newcastle and its surrounding areas have been blessed by beautiful bouts of sunshine this week, it seems as the tides will turn as the weekend rolls in - with clouds and even rain expected.
Thursday's forecast looks to be dull from start to finish, with thick white clouds fogging the skies above the Tyne. A grey tint will also show in these come late morning and mid-afternoon.
For Thursday, the Met Office says: "Cloudy Thursday with outbreaks of light rain throughout, rain more continuous across the Pennines and Cheviot Hills. Light winds during the day but becoming windy overnight.

"Maximum temperature 11 °C."
And it looks to be more of the same come Friday - with clouds anticipated from start to finish according to weather experts at the Met Office. Although, a sunny spell will come at the turn of noon, even if only momentarily.
The Met Office has also issued a yellow weather warning for wind come Friday - which will be in place from 6.00am until 6pm. The Met Office explains:
- "There is a small chance of injuries and danger to life from flying debris
- There is a slight chance of some damage to buildings, such as tiles blown from roofs
- There is a small chance of longer journey times or cancellations as road, rail, air and ferry services are affected. High-sided vehicles may be particularly prone in this set-up.
- There is a slight chance that power cuts may occur, with the potential to affect other services, such as mobile phone coverage
- There is a small chance that some roads and bridges could close
- There is a small chance that injuries and danger to life could occur from large waves and beach material being thrown onto sea fronts, coastal roads and properties."
