Nathaniel Wardle killing: Teen jailed for more than 12 years for dad's manslaughter
A teenager who killed a devoted dad outside his own Tyneside home by stabbing him in the heart has been jailed for more than 12 years.
Mohammed Rabani was found guilty of the manslaughter of Nathaniel Wardle but was cleared by a jury of murder.
His co-accused, Robbie Battista, was found not guilty of both murder and manslaughter but admitted being in possession of a knife at the scene, which Rabani also admitted.
Senior minister says the Government is ready to 'stand behind right company' for Northumberland gigafactory
Michael Gove has said that the Government is working hard to ensure that electrical vehicles of the future will be powered by batteries made in Northumberland.
The Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities was in Blyth this afternoon (Thursday) after announcing a £20.7m investment in the town - £18m of which will go towards housing.
And he declared that the Government was ready to stand behind the "right company with the right investment" after Britishvolt fell into administration, potentially taking at least 3,000 jobs with it and a £3.8 billion investment in the North East economy.

A Northumberland woman with a rare condition has left hospital following major surgery which she hopes will save her life.
Melanie Hartshorn suffers from Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), which causes her skull to dislocate from her neck and spine.
As a result, the 33-year-old, from Cramlington, has spent the majority of her life lying down.
Dad of MH17 victim Liam Sweeney preparing for emotional Wembley trip
The dad of a Newcastle United fan who died in the 2014 MH17 plane disaster is preparing for an emotional trip to Wembley this weekend.
When Liam Sweeney's dad Barry is in London for Newcastle's first cup final more than 20 years, he knows what will be a day of celebration will also be tinged with sadness for John and Liam's loved ones.
The 61-year-old says his son, who never got the chance to see the Toon play in a cup final would have been over-the-moon with their Carabao cup run.
Jesmond restaurant Lovage celebrates Michelin success just five months after opening
A Mediterranean-theme bistro restaurant, which has brought a ray of sunshine to Newcastle's dining scene, is now soaking up a whole load of praise after impressing Michelin judges.
Lovage in Jesmond only opened in September and is delighted to find it has already made it into the latest edition of the prestigious Michelin Guide.
Its head chef Kleo Tabuku sums up the news - which sees the restaurant singled out for both its quality food and its welcome - as "absolutely fantastic".
