Gateshead street resembles canal after pipe bursts in town centre
A street on the Gateshead side of the Quayside resembled a canal after a pipe burst.
Water could be seen running down Bottle Bank, near the Hilton hotel, and towards River Beat on Sunday afternoon. It ran all the way down to Pipewellgate where it built up under the High Level Bridge.
Hills Street, which is near the bridge, was completely submerged in water. Station East, a pub located on the road, posted on social media: "We're open now but you might need your canoe."

Pop bands Liberty X and 911 to headline Blyth Live Festival in Northumberland this summer
Liberty X and 911 are set to headline a music festival in Northumberland.
Blyth Live Festival will take place on the beach in Blyth on Saturday, June 17. The event, which is funded by Blyth Town Council, will play host to a number of top bands.
Liberty X, which includes Gateshead born singer Michelle Heaton, will headline the festival alongside 90s boyband 911.

Touching reason Dan Burn, Bruno Guimaraes and Kevin Keegan are wearing this 'magic hat'
A young Newcastle United fan is living the dream as footballing legends don his 'magic hat' - and raises thousands of pounds for charity in the process.
Wilfy Hodgson created the magic hat which was inspired by a chant by Newcastle fans in honour of Brazilian midfielder Bruno Guimarães.
The eight-year-old's dreams came true when his idol wore the hat and helped raise cash for the Newcastle United Food Bank - a cause close to Wilfy's heart.
And, now other sporting stars have had their turn wearing the hat including Dan Burn, Harrison Ashby, West Ham's Declan Rice and Lucas Paquetá.
Newcastle legend Kevin Keegan and former player Robert Lee have also been snapped with the hat, along with England manager Gareth Southgate and TV pundit Jamie Redknapp.

Oxclose man hits out at 'data breach' which led to £450 bill for gas he didn't use
A Washington man has told of his anger when an alleged data breach led to his house being fitted with a meter he didn't know about or want, a claim which has been denied by the company involved.
Steve Donkin, of Oxclose, says it wasn't until he and his partner were sent a text telling them a bill was ready in their Scottish Power account that they were alerted to the mix-up, as they had no Scottish Power account, no metered gas supply and no meter fitted in their home.
Mr Donkin's home is one of over 1,000 in the Oxclose, Fatfield and Albany areas of Washington which are gradually being disconnected from the Washington District Heating Scheme (DHS), which has supplied homes in the area with heating and hot water for the past 50 years.
As part of the upgrade, Gentoo Group, which owns and manages the heating system, is fitting every house with an independent gas boiler and setting each household up with a Scottish Power account to get their supply up and running.

Are Newcastle stuttering at just the wrong time? Or could the manner of Saturday's 2-0 defeat against Liverpool end up 'igniting the fires' - just like the reverse fixture at Anfield back in August?
Eddie Howe will certainly take heart from his side's response after going down to 10 men midway through the first half at St James' Park. Nick Pope's red card ended up galvanising the group despite the two-goal deficit and the Magpies ultimately had a host of chances to get back into the game.
Allan Saint-Maximin and Dan Burn both hit the crossbar before half-time; Alexander Isak fired over from inside the box on the turn after the break; Fabian Schar headed wide before the hour mark; and substitute Callum Wilson was denied by Alisson late on.
