Northumbria's Police and Crime Commissioner has said that no police investigation is needed to show that Boris Johnson disrespected the sacrifices of others during the Covid pandemic.
Kim McGuinness said the damage caused by the allegations of parties at No.10 were "beyond repair", she she called for the Prime Minister to resign.
It comes after Metropolitan Police Commissioner Dame Cressida Dick confirmed that officers were now investigating a "number of events" in Downing Street and Whitehall in relation to potential breaches of Covid laws.

Northumbria Police and Crime Commissioner, Kim McGuinness, said: "Public anger over this isn't going anywhere. If anything, it's growing day by day.
"I don't even think we need investigations to spell out that Boris Johnson disrespected the sacrifices of others.
"As everyone cancelled plans – our Prime Minister was busy making them."
On Monday, further allegations of rule-breaking at Downing Street emerged after No.10 conceded staff "gathered briefly" in the Cabinet Room on the afternoon of June 19 2020.
It's alleged 30 people attended the gathering after a meeting, shared cake, and sang "happy birthday" to Mr Johnson, despite social mixing indoors being banned.
Ms McGuinness added: "What bothers me now is that this is all distracting our Government from other serious matters.
"It's becoming all about parties and probes – any plans around levelling up the North will no doubt be delayed.
"How can we carry on with a Prime Minister at the very centre of a police investigation?
"He surely has to accept that this is damage beyond repair and resigning now would be the right thing to do. He has to go."
