Nordi Mukiele has bid a classy farewell to RB Leipzig ahead of his £13.5million transfer to Paris Saint-Germain.
The news serves as yet another blow to Chelsea 's frustrating transfer window, having already been snubbed by the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Matthijs de Ligt and Raphinha. As well as their attack, Blues were looking to rebuild their defence this summer following the departures of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen, with Mukiele identified as an ideal candidate.
Able to operate at right-back and centre-back, the Frenchman would have seamlessly slotted into Thomas Tuchel 's three-man defence. But PSG are on the verge of confirming his arrival, with Leipzig being forced to sell Mukiele after he entered the final 12 months of his contract.
