Sell-out restaurant pop-up Nook by the River is back for 2023 and bookings are due to open this week. The extremely popular outdoor dining sessions will be at Llandaff Rowing Club once again for three weeks.
Reservations for Nook By The River will be live on Monday, June 5 from 12.30pm and you'll be able to book a table from Wednesday, July 12 to Sunday, August 6. Specialising in small plates, local produce and natural wines, Nook, which you'll find in Canton, quickly built a cult following after it opened in 2019 and soon became one of those places everyone seemed to be talking about.
In January 2021 it made it into the Michelin Guide, and has remained there, impressing with its ingredient-led plates which can see dishes like mussels in 'nduja butter and Welsh aged Florentine steak.

We reviewed Nook By the River back in 2021 when we tried the torched mackerel with horseradish cream, heritage tomatoes, rocket and smoked salt, barbecued chicken thighs and tenderstem broccoli with cashew ricotta - read what we thought here.
Nook - the bricks and mortar venue on Cowbridge Road East - recently had a refurbishment and reopened in April. The restaurant was the middle project of husband and wife team Phill and Deb Lewis, who founded Dusty's Pizza and in 2021 opened Kindle at the park ranger's cottage in Sophia Gardens.
