The train service between Nong Khai and Thanaleng in Laos resumed normal operations on Friday with the easing of the Covid-19 threat.
The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) announced the reopening of the line, which crosses the Mekong River on the Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge..
The Nong Khai-Thanaleng train runs twice daily. It leaves Nong Khai at 7.30am and 2.45pm, and the return leg departs Laos at 10am and 5.30pm.
The ride takes 15 minutes and the fare is 20 baht, SRT spokesman Ekkkaratch Sriarayanpong said.
Thailand and Laos reopened the border in May, almost two years after sealing the frontier in March 2020 at the height of the coronavirus pandemic.
The SRT has gradually brought train services back to normal after the government eased Covid-19 travel restrictions.
The rapid train service between Bangkok and Yala in the far South also resumed on Friday.
