Noman Ali scripts history, becomes first Pakistani spinner to take hat-trick in Test cricket - WATCH

NEW DELHI: Noman Ali etched his name in history as Pakistan’s first spinner to claim a Test cricket hat trick. The 38-year-old achieved the milestone on the opening day of the second Test against the West Indies at Multan Cricket Stadium.

Noman struck in the 12th over, dismissing Justin Greaves, Tevin Imlach, and Kevin Sinclair in consecutive deliveries.

Greaves was caught by Babar Azam at second slip for 1 (3 balls), Imlach was trapped lbw for a duck, and Sinclair was also caught by Azam on his first ball.

Noman joins an elite group of Pakistani bowlers with Test hat tricks.

The first was Wasim Akram, who achieved the feat twice in March 1999 against Sri Lanka, first in Lahore and then in Dhaka.

Abdul Razzaq followed with a hat trick against Sri Lanka in Galle in June 2000, and Mohammad Sami added another in the 2002 Asian Test Championship final in Lahore.

The last Pakistani to claim a Test hat trick before Noman was Naseem Shah, who achieved the feat against Bangladesh at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in February 2020.
