Noel Gallagher has reflected on how his teenage self would have reacted to his decision to collaborate with long-time chart rival Damon Albarn.
The former Oasis musician, 55, was invited by the Blur frontman to team up for his other band the Gorillaz and provide backing vocals on track We Got The Power in 2017.
Gallagher thinks his younger self would have been utterly disgusted by the move, joking to the Big Issue: “What would my younger self think of me working with Damon Albarn? It would depend entirely on what side of the bed I got out of on that day.
“If you caught me on a good day I’d be like, yeah, I could see that happening. On a bad day, I’d f*****g knife myself in the b******s.”
Elsewhere in the interview, the Wonder Wall hitmaker also admitted that he would love to go back in time to when he met his idol David Bowie because he has “no recollections whatsoever” of what happened because he was “high and p*****”.
He said given the opportunity to do the moment over, he “would appreciate it so much more. I’d tell him what he meant to me growing up and how much he means to me now, and I’d tell him, ‘I’m gonna rip you off to f*** when you’re dead you know.’”
