Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds to play special homecoming gig at Wythenshawe Park next year

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds are to play a special homecoming concert at Wythenshawe Park next year. The gig will mark the band's first headline show since 2019 and the first major concert hosted at the park.

The former Oasis guitarist and co-vocalist will appear at the park for the concert on August 26, 2023 with support from Primal Scream and Future Islands.

Noel, who grew up nearby in Longsight, announced the concert following the recent release of single 'Pretty Boy', ahead of the suspected release of a new album next year.

He announced the 'special' homecoming show on Twitter on Wednesday evening, ahead of the sale of the tickets. He wrote: "NGHFB return to Manchester next summer for a special homecoming show at Wythenshawe Park on Sat 26th Aug, 2023."

"This is their first full headline performance in the city since 2019. Don’t miss out!"

Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds complete a tour of outdoor shows in summer this year, including playing a set on Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage in front of one of the weekend’s largest crowds.

Tickets for the show go on general sale this Friday (December 2) at 10am GMT. The pre-sale link goes live tomorrow (December 1) at 12pm.
