These days Noel Fielding is best known as the quirky host of The Great British Bake Off.
But the TV star’s comedy career began decades ago when he created The Mighty Boosh with Julian Barratt, which was massive and won him many awards in the Noughties.
Over the years, Noel has retained his offbeat style, often wearing faux fur coats, various styles of cowboy boots - and he’s a sucker for a loud shirt or jumper.
Now 49, he might look like a rock star – he’s appeared in music videos and did the artwork for the latest Kasabian album.
However, life is a little more calm as he approaches 50, and he lives in leafy Highgate, North London with his long-term partner Lliana Bird and their two children.
Noel and Lliana, a 41-year-old broadcaster, writer and activist, are believed to have been dating since 2010.
Lliana, who goes by the nickname Birdy, is also a performer and has appeared in various theatre shows.
She has her own production company, Bird & Be, and is co-founder of Choose Love, a non-profit organisation supporting refugees and globally displaced people.
Prior to this she was a radio presenter, who used to host the Sunday evening show on Radio X.
She has previously written a book called The Mice Who Sing For Sex: And Other Weird Tales From The World Of Science.
Lliana has also appeared a guest commentator on Sky News and BBC Breakfast, written for the Huffington Post and presents a weekly podcast called Geek Chic’s Weird Science.
Earlier this month she announced she was publishing her first children’s book, which she called a “total dream”.
Posting on Instagram, she told her 30,000 followers: “I’m over the moon to finally be able to share some news I’ve been holding in for a long time.
"This September my first children’s book will be published, by the incredible Rocket Bird Books.
“Rocket Bird is a visionary new publishers, and an imprint of Harper Collins, created to champion exciting and innovative new picture books, and to turn all children into book lovers before they’re able to read a single world.
“I honestly couldn’t be prouder to be one of their writers...It’s a total dream.”
Lliana gave birth to her first daughter with Noel in 2018, who they named Dali after the Spanish surrealist artist Salvador Dali.
“Noel thought the name was a perfect fit,” a source told The Sun at the time.
“Salvador has played a big part in his life, so it’s no surprise to his friends he’s named a baby after him. It’s a cute name and really suits the tot.”
The couple welcomed their second daughter, Iggy – who could be named after singer Iggy Pop – in August 2020.
Although the couple don’t share photos of their kids on social media, mum Lliana sometimes shares snaps of their artwork, particularly from oldest daughter Dali.
And the youngster, thought to be almost five, looks like she could be following in dad Noel’s artistic footsteps.
Dali has been busy creating banana sculptures, family paintings and ‘self-portraits’, which involves her flatlaying her clothes on the floor and adding various objects for heads.
In another post, Lliana shared that artist dad Noel had painted an abstract picture of daughters Dali and Iggy.
It was captioned: “Happy International daughters day to the greatest funniest pups of all time (by @noel_fielding)."
Chatting about Dali shortly after she was born, Noel told The Jonathan Ross Show: “I don’t know how that happened, look at my pointy visage! She is very beautiful and she blows my mind about a hundred times a day.
“It’s a new level of tiredness that I’ve never experienced. I’ve done a lot of all-nighters in my life. In a way I’ve been training for this moment all my life.”
