THE mother of Noah Donohoe has dismissed a “report by a psychiatrist” which states he might have died by suicide while distressed and struggling with his sexuality.
Fiona Donohoe told the Sunday World her son was raised in an open-minded family in Belfast and around people of same-sex relationships and was not confused about his sexuality.
It is understood that the report has been seen by the Independent Investigation team looking into the circumstances around Noah’s death, including the teen’s texts and messages in the days before his death.

he team, led by Dublin-based journalist Donal MacIntyre is also reported to be aware of his Google searches which point to a strange obsession with psychologist Jordan Peterson.
But his mother said said: “There is absolutely no evidence that I have ever been made aware of that Noah was confused about his sexuality.
“In fact, our dynamic as a family was always one of open discussion on all topics, including sexuality.”
Noah left his Belfast home on June 21, 2020 and cycled to the north of the city where he was recorded naked on his bike. Six days later his body was found in a storm drain 1km from where he was last seen.
A postmortem found that the highly-intelligent student had died as a result of drowning.
Noah’s mother said that the report only illustrates how little they know about her son’s life and state of mind, telling the Sunday World: “To suggest this would be a factor to ‘trigger’ Noah to consider suicide shows the little understanding the expert had into who Noah was as a teenage boy.”
