Protests against the Trump administration’s immigration crackdown spread across the United States on Friday, with organisers calling for a nationwide strike under the slogan “no work, no school, no shopping”.
The protests were driven by anger over recent fatal shootings linked to immigration enforcement. Public outrage intensified after Alex Pretti, an intensive care nurse, was shot dead in Minneapolis after filming Border Patrol officers during an operation.
