Former US Army Chief of Staff Gen Randy George was reportedly asked to drop an investigation into a low-flying helicopter incident near the Tennessee home of musician Kid Rock just days before his removal.

The Washington Post reported, citing people familiar with the discussions, that Gen Chris LaNeve approached George with the request. LaNeve, who was then the Army's number two officer and is now serving as acting Army chief of staff, conveyed a message regarding the ongoing probe. He informed George that Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth wanted the investigation to be discontinued entirely.
